Update: It didn't work exactly as I thought it would. So.. consider this on hold now. Testing now continues..
Update 2: Yes, I figured an interference on my system atleast when used on Vista Ultimate.
The video acceleration, a component of graphics on the system stopped functioning, which meant I wasn't able to access many softwares which used video acceleration (eg. games such as chess, Zune software, and even settings of ATi Catalyst for my Mobility Radeon X1300). I didn't try to replicate this issue on other systems, since a) I already had formatted my system thrice by then, b) come on... all this for this a software with no specific purpose (tsk.. tsk.. Liar!!), c) I was too relieved to get my system back that I promised her not to see HiBit again.
Ever wanted to hide those folders or files on your USB or removable drives? What if they contain (lets be honest) incriminating pictures that you took with your camera phone?
Removable drives and USB drives are one of the most commonly shared items in your IT inventory. If you don't want to delete the particular "items" on it every time you lend it to a friend, what would you do?
I tried, unmounting the drives, removing drive labels, hiding with windows default hide option. But, each time, it's easy if not ridiculously easy to find it.
So what do you do? Download software which hides folders and files? Yeah, sure why not.
A-ah. Sorry, those programs don't hide stuff on REMOVABLE drives. You need specific software for that. I tried one another software, it can hide something called (or rather I remember as UFS which I think stands for USB file system??). But that doesn't work on removable hard drives like mine.
So what? I used this software called HiBit Hide Folder. What does it do? Simple, it hides folders on removable drives, so even when you share that "secrets" containing drives, they remain hidden. And the icing on the cake??
It's FREE!!!*
Ok, I know you noticed the asterisk. Well, it's really free, if you can do this.
Yes this, write a review on the software and send the URL to those folks at Falcon-Soft. They will check it out and send you the activation code and Lo! Behold!, you are a free user. Of course, there are always compromises. You won't get features like tech-support, and you have to wait for few days to get the code rather than immediately.
But, then, it doesn't cost much, and my folders are hidden (oh did I mention, it can encrypt too??) and above all, IT WORKS.
So, why don't you get one for yourself too from here.
