Reign Over Me

I am probably in a mood to cry. Ok, having made that statement, don't assume that this is sob-story. It's a beautiful movie! At least to me.

Adam Sandler has truly come of age here. There are few instances in the movie which overwhelmed with his portrayal of the a man who loses his loving family and his peace. A story that is based on the emotional stress of a completely different kind from the one we have been constantly exposed to by the "media"!

The fact that 9/11 has been kept to a bare minimum in this movie, only lend credibility since it only acts as a backdrop and is not exploited as other movies or stories have done. Anyway, the setting up of the movie, Charlie (Sandler) and Alan (Cheadle)'s characters, contrasting each other, yet complementing one another is a real treat to watch.
I don't want to further write a "review" about this movie. The ones I have read have a left a mad taste in my mouth as to how biased our views can be and to influence others. So here's the warning: "THIS PIECE ON THE MOVIE "REIGN OVER ME" IS STRICTLY THIS PARTICULAR VIEWER'S OPINION. PLEASE DON'T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED AS THE MOVIE'S QUALITY".
Watch it if you want to get rid of those now-heavy "tear-sacs" in your eyes, or just to see another drama, whatever be it, don't think it's a comedy just 'cos Adam Sandler is there.
